How To: Set permissions on Windows Vista

Microsoft's latest release, Windows Vista, is very picky about permissions. If you are having difficulty using Email Marketing Director with the new Windows Vista system, here are a couple of things to try. After installing Vista, log into your computer as the Administrator user, and there should be no problems running Email Marketing Director. If it is necessary to log in as a different user, you may need to set the permissions for that user in order to run the program.

To do that, navigate to the Email Marketing Director program folder. In a typical installation it is located at C:\Program Files\EmailMarketingDirector. Find the emailmarketingdirector.exe file. Right mouse click the file and open the Properties menu. Go to the security tab. Highlight the Users groups and check the box to allow full access for users.

Repeat the same procedure for the Email Marketing Direct program folder itself too, and that should take care of any permissions issues that come up.
