Campaign
Desktop - The Message Tab
The Message tab is where you enter, format and configure
the text of the email message you wish to send to
the recipients in your database.

Message Type
In the Message Type field, choose whether you
want to send an html email, a plain text email or
both.
Enable A/B Messaging
By enabling A/B Messaging, you can set your mass emailing
to alternate between two different messages. Person
1 will receive Message A, Person 2 will receive Message
B, Person 3 will receive Message A, and so on.
Subject
Enter text into the Subject field as you want
it to appear in the subject line of the outgoing
email.
Plain Text/HTML Message
Enter the body text of the email here. If you are sending
an HTML message, remember to include all appropriate
HTML body text tags, including color tags, bold and
italics, and headlines. For a couple important notes
on HTML messaging, click here.
Clean button
Clicking the Clean button will remove any characters
from the Plain Text/HTML Message field that aren't
readable by standard email programs. Campaign Desktop
will replace these removed characters as best it
can. After clicking the Clean button, you can always
go back into the text to make further modifications.
Import button
Clicking the Import button will allow you to retrieve
your email from an already existing text file. You
can not directly import a Word or Wordperfect document
into Campaign Desktop. Conversion options include
saving the Word or Wordperfect document as a text
file, then importing it, or cutting and pasting the
text. You can, however, include a Word or Wordperfect
document as an attachment (see Attachment, below).
Print button
Clicking the Print button will print a copy of
the email you are planning to send.
View HTML button
Clicking the View HTML button will display your
email in your web browser. The View HTML button is
a very useful tool if you are sending an HTML email.
Merge Field Insertion
If you want to add a database field into your
email text (e.g., the recipient's name), do so by
choosing that field here. Please note that you can
also type that field name directly into your message,
but by using the Merge Field Insertion function,
you can help avoid misspellings and typos.
Attachment
Attach a file to your mass emailing through the
Attachment field.
Character set
Choose which language character set you wish
to use in your email through the Character set field.
