Purpose

This document is intended to guide a user through a basic setup of Campaign Enterprise (all editions). Many of the advanced features are deliberatly omitted in this simple setup.

Campaign Install and Setup

• Download the software from the link in your download request email.

• Open the.zip file using WinZip. For a free trial download go to www.winzip.com.

• Double click the CampaignEnterpriseInstall.exe file.

• Follow the instructions on the installation screen.

• Campaign is now installed.

Before you begin ensure that you have Campaign software installed, a database populated with email addresses and the name or IP address of the SMTP server to which you will be connecting.

Launch Campaign:

• Click on Start > Programs > Campaign Enterprise to launch

• You will be presented with a login prompt. ("Admin” is the default for both the username and password).

Create a new Campaign:

• Click the New Campaign button

• Name the campaign

• Click Save: The campaign edit screen will open automatically at Step 1 - Data Source. To exit the edit area, click Save or Cancel. When you move to another tab, any changes made are saved.

• The new campaign will appear on the Main Menu screen. Click on the Edit button to re-enter your project configuration.

Step 1 - Data Source

• Here you will specify the pathway to the database for this campaign.

• Select the type of database you will be using.

• Browse to the database file for Access, or select the appropriate Data Source Name (DSN) listed.

• Select the table or query from the drop down field.

• Select the field that contains the email address from the drop down field.

• Click on the Message tab

Step 2 - The Message

• Select Plain Text from the drop down field

• Input the subject of the message

• Enter complete plain text message in the Plain Text Message Body field

• Click on the Sending tab

Step 3 - Sending

• Enter the name or IP of the SMTP server to which you will be connecting

• Enter the From email address (Your email address)

• Enter the Return path email address (Your email address)

• Click Save to return to the Main Menu
  

Click Run/Test and then confirm that you want to send in order to deliver the emails.

Congratulations, you have successfully configured and delivered your first email campaign.
