HOW TO: Use Set Up Click Through Tracking Links in Campaign Enterprise 11
One of the most prominent improvements in Campaign Enterprise 11 is the way it manages click through tracking links. In previous versions of the program, the click through set up was rather cumbersome and confusing. Now it is streamlined to minimize the steps and work with any sort of hyperlink.
Create an HTML Message with Normal Links Included
With version 11, there is no longer a need to replace the link code with the click through merge fields, {CLICKTHRU1}. Simply create the email message, links and all just like a normal web page. Image links and even mapped images are managed automatically when processing the click throughs on the click through page.

On the click through page, enable the click through feature. If the click through feature is disabled, the links will act normally, they just will not be trackable.

Click Extract Links, all the links that are found in the message will be listed. The links need to be activated any links may be ignored.

Select the first link to activate it and click Edit Link.

Activate the link, then select the field or advanced update to execute when the link is clicked.

Click Save & New to move to the next link in the list.

Repeat until all the links are activated. Ignore links that are not meant to be tracked.
Hopefully, this process will eliminate the problems with moving back and forth from the click through page and the create message area. The URL, display text or image, and whether the link is active are displayed on the main click through page for easy examination. Any link may be modified at any time by selecting that link and clicking the edit button.
When the email is sent, the click through processing works in the same manner, where the link is replaced with a trackable link that is served up by Campaign Enterprise and redirected to the destination URL. When using plain text messaging, when the same URL is found in the plain text message, as long as it is activated in the click through page, it will also convert to a click through tracking link.
