FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Direct Email Marketing Technology
From Arial Software Automatically Manages Email
Bounces and Unsubscribes
CODY, WY - September 17, 2002 --Direct email
marketers struggling under a flood of email bounces
and unsubscribe requests get a helping hand from
response automation features now available in
Arial Software's Campaign Enterprise email marketing
software ($995 and up). The software, best known
for its personalized email merging and mailing
capabilities, now fully automates the handling
of bounces and unsubscribe clicks.
Email bounces are automatically detected, regardless
of reason: mailbox full, no mail server (MX) record,
recipient account does not exist, and others.
Click-thru unsubscribe requests are monitored
in real-time via Campaign's built-in web server.
As bounces and unsubscribe requests are detected,
Campaign Enterprise updates the originating record
in the source database (Oracle, MS SQL, MS Access,
DB2, and ODBC-compatible databases), marking the
record as needed. For example, a "bounce
count" field can be incremented for each
bounce, allowing the administrator to set a bounce
threshold before deciding not to email that recipient
again.
These features are expected to save email marketing
professionals significant time and frustration
in managing email campaigns. Arial Software developed
the features in response to customer suggestions.
"Our customers were having a very easy time
getting the email out," said Arial Software
CEO Mike Adams, "but they were struggling
with ways to deal with the responses in a timely
manner. These features neatly solve this issue
and position Campaign Enterprise as a full-circle
send-and-receive email marketing application."
