Campaign Enterprise Using Microsoft IIS Internet Information Service For Email Marketing

Microsoft IIS Internet Information Service
One of powerful aspects of Campaign Enterprise is the ability for it to utilize the Microsoft Internet Information Service (IIS) for administration of campaigns and handling of response events like click tracking, unsubscribe requests, etc. in reat-time. All of the familiar IIS functionality and security can be used in connection with Campaign Enterprise. You can use folder security, SSL certificates, create applications pools to separate website functions, etc.
Two websites are created at time of installation: A private website and a public website. The private website is used for all administrative activities including creating and administering email campaigns. The private website can remain inside your firewall using an internal IP address. You can also setup website-specific security using windows authentication to protect the Campaign Enterprise SQL Server database volume and your own databases as well. The public website is used for requests and responses from email recipients. Since images can now reside on the Campaign Enterprise website, image references in emails are pointed to the Campaign Enterprise system which serves up these images. Also, unsubscribes, click tracking, and other response events are directed to this public website. The public website has its own application pool and security for this website can be tightened as needed. You can also limit the database access this website.
Using the IIS system also allows Campaign Enterprise to be scaled or distributed between many servers. The use of a load-balancer would allow separate Campaign Enterprise system to respond to response events submitted to the load-balancer and forwarded to a Campaign Enterprise server. Each Campaign Enterprise system would have to connect to a common MS SQL Server or cluster.
This scale-ability will allow Campaign Enterprise to grown with your companies needs. Many industries are using this distributed method including Telecommunication companies, Banks, governments agencies, etc.
You will need to use IIS 7 or better with the Campaign Enterprise system.
